Tomatoes from Space?
These pictures are from my backyard last summer after we grew the seeds in my class last spring. The plant in the picture is actually 2 tomato plants that grew together (like siamese twins) and we got about 100 tomatoes from it/them. There were so many tomatoes we had to support the branches with a chair!

Diary of a Wacky Class Part 3
MONDAY April 18th
Today nothing extraordinary happened. The day just drifted by. Except a little talking incident in music class we just had the back row talking nonstop.
TUESDAY April 19th
Today we had drama. In which we had many more people. Start on there commercials. But the special news is that the class finished reading MR. Ito. In french class we did a sports survey.
WEDNESDAY April 20th
Today in science we started studying about alternative sources of energy. Adding to that it was the last day we worked on our Japanese internment poems too.
THURSDAY April 21st
Today we started brain storming a slogan for pyjama day. In gym we were practising high jump.
FRIDAY April 22nd
Today we had no school. Because of good old Easter Friday and there is absolutely no school on Monday.
There is a new thing happening in the blog. I’m now writing interesting facts about Canada enjoy.
Did you know that Canada is over 40 times bigger than the UK and 18 times bigger than France.
• Canada has more inland lakes and rivers than any other country in the world.
• The largest group of freshwater lakes in the world belongs to The Great Lakes. This group is consisted of Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario lakes where one third of its total surface is in Canada.
• Canada has the world's longest coastline, over 200 000 km.

Diary of a Wacky Class Part 2
Monday April 11
Today our class received a notice to go to the Steveston museum of Japanese interment.
After that we learned about the Japanese nuclear crisis that happened in 1945. There was nothing more special that day except that we learned about telling a false newspaper headline from a real one.
Tuesday April 12
Today we started filming our commercials in drama. Drama is a big 2 block fun class because there are no sheets of work and absolutely no homework. There are around 4 groups filming at the moment and they are making commercials about t-shirts,Nintendos toothpaste, basketball shoes and kleenex.
Wednesday April 13
Today the grades 6 and 7 best mathematicians took part in an all Canadian math exam. The exam itself is hard. Because it has math questions from the grade 4s math program to the grade 7s math program and you only have one and a half hours to do it.
Thursday April 14
Today the grade 6's got a whole page of math to be finished by Friday. In the gym we have started practising for track and field. Track and field is a competition in witch athletes from all the schools in Richmond come to and compete against each other.
Friday April 15
Today we had kids from another school come to our school and sing a couple of pieces from all over the world. After that we had Terry Fox's brother, Fred Fox come to our school and talk about Terry Fox fighting against cancer.

Diary of a Wacky Class
Monday, April 4, 2011
Today is the first day after spring break. It went pretty crazy because of the two weeks of doing nothing that we got. Adding to the fun we got a new unit called drama.
Tuesday April 5, 2011
Nothing new happened, except in computers we started doing a new project making charts. Its not that fun but it is very useful doing a chart of our solar system. In drama we got a new project doing a commercial.
Wednesday April 6, 2011
The grade six students are still learning division strategies in math. In language arts we have started learning about the Japanese people that lived in Canada and were discriminated against during the Second World War.
Thursday April 7, 2011
Today we were introduced to “Rollodollars”. Its like our class currency. Every day that we come to class we get 30 Rollodollars. Adding to that, anytime we do good deeds we get some Rollodollars. There are ways you can lose them - you have to pay rent at the end of the week for your desk. Another way you can lose your money is if you do something bad; you get fined by our teacher or the police officer.
Friday April 8, 2011
Some of the class were disappointed by having to go to the library instead of going to gym. But we were all very cheerful because that was the last day before the weekend.
